University and Fachhochschule

There are two types of higher education in Germany, the Universität (universit, hereafter abbreviated as UNION) and Fachhochschule (university applied, hereinafter abbreviated as FH). Differences between UNI and FH of them can be cited as follows: 1) The material of study. UNION greater emphasis given to theory and to develop responsibility in science. The programs offered

Between UNI and Diplom Diplom FH have differences, including: 1) Diplom FH could be completed within 4.5 years while the new UNI Diplom could be completed within five years. 2) Diplom FH have applied a larger load (60% lecture) compared with the Diplom UNION (40% lecture). 3) Diplom FH is not designed to continue to jengang Doctor.
